During my morning meditation for this blog, I received a very strong message that I did not need to pull a card for this week. Instead, I was instructed to let you know that you need to keep working with The Lovers. At first, I figured that the Universe just wanted everyone to continue working on drawing to them, whatever they feel they can’t live without. If you remember, last week, I talked about how the essence of The Lovers is working to find that to which you’re truly drawn.
However, I felt like there was more to the message. I was right. As I continued meditating, I heard, “To find that which one truly loves, they have to first decide what they absolutely don’t want.”
As I thought about the message I was hearing, I realized that it fit with one of the lesser meanings of The Lovers – choice. To be able to make a meaningful choice, one that truly brings value to your Life, you have to understand not only who you are, but why you’re making the choices you are making. Read more
Hello. I hope that last week, you found time to do something for yourself, as instructed by the Five of Swords. In doing so, did you, possibly, run across something or someone to which you felt very drawn? If not, this week might enable you to do so as you’ll be working with the energy of The Lovers.
Many think that The Lovers indicates that love is nearby, and while this can be one meaning of the card, the deepest meaning of The Lovers is that you are in a space where you find yourself very attracted to a new idea, a new hobby, or a new person. Alternately, you might find yourself revisiting something or someone from your past that you once loved, but for whatever reason, had to put aside.
Of course, not all of us want to revisit our past and even if there is someone from our past that we’d like to reconnect with, this is not always possible. So, if you’re looking to your past for something you love, it makes more sense to reconnect with a hobby or idea that you had to shelve. Maybe you once loved to paint, but had to stop doing so because you couldn’t find the time. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn to paint, but never followed this desire. The energy of The Lovers brings you up close and personal to something from which you can turn away, whether it is a new love or and old love. So, if your love is painting, it’s time to paint! Hi, everyone. I hope that the past two weeks found you working with the Queen of Swords’ energy, which asked you to put the past behind and look towards the future. This week, the Five of Swords provides a warning that there might be discord around you, whether in your personal Life or at work, and therefore, you must do all that you can to take care of yourself.
The Five of Swords is about putting your own self-interest first – not in a negative, narcissistic way, but in a way that enables you to traverse unseen minefields and remain whole and intact. The Five of Swords asks you to keep your eyes and ears open and be aware of what’s going on around you. This card also asks that you don’t lower yourself to act in a manner similar to those creating the discord.
When you find yourself in negative situations, it can be difficult to be restrained. However, this is the best way to take care of yourself. Don’t hide. But, remain above others’ attempts to draw you into battle. Speak your truth, let your integrity shine, and know that, no matter how difficult the situation, as long as you’re not trying to bring the other person(s) down who manifested the negative situation, you will be okay. Probably more than a bit exhausted and irritated, but okay. Read more
These past few weeks have not been easy for most. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that, lately, Life has been exhausting and draining. However, it’s time to let the events of recent weeks go, as this week’s indicator card – the Queen of Swords – urges us to leave the past behind and look towards the future.
Moving forward, you’ll want to keep as focused and aware as possible. The Queen of Swords represents the ability to see situations as they really are, as opposed to how others might want you to see them. It’s possible that people, either in your personal or professional life, might try to manipulate you or a situation with which you are involved this week. Just remember to be alert and draw on the keen insight offered by the Queen of Swords, to avoid and maneuver any sticky situations that arise.
You can also use this penetrating insight to help others in need this week. Perhaps you know of someone who is unable to see their own potential and is struggling because of their lack of self-esteem. Step in, take them by the hand, and help them understand what they have yet to see about themselves. I imagine many people are in need of some emotional support and guidance, particularly in these precarious times. Read more
Hi, everyone. Hope you survived this past week, intact. One reader wrote to tell me that she’d had a really rough week at work, as did I. However, for me, the Seven of Swords’ energy did help me push through and reveal some of the lies that had been told. I’m still having to deal with leftover residue, and I’m not without bruises – in fact, I feel like I’ve been in a boxing match for months. However, I am still standing.
This week should prove to be “interesting”. After meditating, I pulled one of the most negative cards in the deck. I said to the Universe, “Nope, not having it,” and proceeded to reshuffle and pull another card, again negative. So I reshuffled and pulled yet a third negative card.
At that point, I put down the cards and said, “Enough! I will not write another negative blog this week, and far too many of us have put up with far too much!” I proceeded to shuffle again, and pulled The Hermit. However, when I looked at the card behind The Hermit, it was the original nasty card that had appeared. So, this tells me that, we’re facing another tough week and the Universe is telling us to heed The Hermit’s warning and go within. Read more
This week, as you continue working towards your goals or finding solutions to problems, be aware that there could be a “thief” in your midst. The Seven of Swords indicates deception and betrayal – someone is trying to steal from you, even if it is something non-tangible, like your peace of mind or happiness.
I must admit that, when I pulled this card, I felt like the conflict with which I’m dealing, where several people are doing their best to bring me down, negatively influenced the reading for all of you in the 9 Elephants tribe. However, before I pull a card, I meditate and ask that a card be shown that will provide wisdom and advice for all who read this blog. So, perhaps this next week is one in which we must all be truly cautious.
Even if others are trying to harm you, because the Seven of Swords represents dealings in deception, those who are engaged in harmful activities towards you will, most likely, be found out. But, this doesn’t mean you won’t have to deal with some nastiness, in the interim. Stay strong, avoid conflict, but, if you must speak up, do so. All is not lost, except for the sleep you lose, due to worrying. Read more
We continue moving forward this week, with the Knight of Pentacles. The Knight of Wands has had you moving toward your goals and overcoming obstacles for the past couple of weeks. This week, the Knight of Pentacles lets you take smaller steps. This guy knows that you might be tired and overworked and he’s here to let you know that slow and steady will still get you where you need to go.
All pentacle cards represent the final act of manifestation. So, with the Knight of Pentacles appearing this week, it’s possible that you’re closer than ever to realizing some of your dreams. You probably just need to take a few final steps. Also, if you have a hunch about something, work with that hunch. Again, this week, it’s all about taking smaller steps, thinking twice about each action, and doing only what feels right.
The Knight of Pentacles is very, very dependable, so emulate this knight and be dependable this week, too. I know that many of you are already very dependable, but maybe this week, let yourself be just that much more dependable. Let those who might need your help know that you’re there for them. But, more importantly, be there for yourself. Figure out what has to be done this week and do it, but don’t push yourself too hard. Read more
This week’s card is the Knight of Wands, which represents a journey. Given last week’s card, the journey indicated by the Knight of Wands is essentially a continuation of dealing with and overcoming the obstacles currently taking up unnecessary space in your Life.
It’s likely that many of you have not yet completely conquered the problems you were tackling last week, whether it’s a health problem, a tiresome work situation, or something connected to your personal life. This is understandable – after all, you can only accomplish so much in a week, right? I know that, personally, I seem to be stuck in the middle of a non-stop vortex of problems that seem impossible to resolve, but I continue to work toward a satisfactory ending. Despite any frustration you might feel, continue to work towards a positive resolution.
Be aware that when you have yet to accomplish something, you could get frustrated. Yet, frustration will most likely only lead to your taking actions that could be foolish. Therefore, while journeying with the energy of the Knight of Wands, be conscious of maintaining a rational mindset and don’t become impatient. Read more
Did everyone get a lot of rest last week? I know one person who got none, so I certainly hope that the rest of you found some relaxing down time. My week was so insanely busy, that my daughter co-authored this blog, giving me time last night, to lie down for an hour or so. Does that count as rest or utter collapse?
However, now that you’ve reveled in a much-deserved break, it’s time to get back to work, tackling situations that might have become roadblocks in your life. Luckily for all of us, this week’s card - the Six of Wands – indicates that victory can be achieved.
The Six of Wands represents overcoming obstacles to positive ends. Whatever challenges Life has currently thrown your way – whether in the realm of work, romance, or even health – this card screams from the sidelines, “You can do it!” The Six of Wands constantly urges you to move forward and take control. If you have been moving so quickly, that you feel like you’re not going to be able to catch your breath if you don’t take a break, then the Four of Swords gives you permission to rest this week. Some perceive this card as being a negative card, because when it appears, the message is very clear: “No movement is going to occur soon.”
However, while I agree that the Four of Swords does indicate a time when not much will happen – or, at least, change – I think it’s a great card, because it says that it’s okay to just lie down and breathe. Stop worrying about the people at your job who aren’t doing what they’re supposed to be doing, causing you to work extra hard. Forget about vacuuming. So what if your car needs a good cleaning. After all, one week is not going to make or break much – even on a worldwide level.
Next week, protests will still be occurring. Congress will still be filled with idiots. Dictators will abound. Far too many CEOs will continue stealing. So, your taking a week off to rest and contemplate what you want to do next is more than allowed. In fact, it’s a must! Read more
For this week’s reading, I pulled my personal indicator card, the Queen of Cups. This means, that all week, you have to do whatever I say. Kidding! Seriously, the Queen of Cups is all about nurturing, while working from a deep, constant intuitive place.
The energy of the Queen of Cups is very gentle. So, this week, in addition to nurturing whatever you think needs your attention – be it a person, your work, or a creative project – be sure to be kind to yourself, as well.
The Queen of Cups is quite emotional. She feels other peoples’ pain and rejoices in their accomplishments. She will cry when she hears of strangers’ tragedies and she’ll rejoice when someone on the other side of the world triumphs. The Queen of Cups does not have to know you personally to be in your corner. Read more
This week, the Queen of Pentacles asks you to take a break from all the hard work you put in last week and devote your energy to those you call family. This might be the family into which you were born or the family you created through marriage/partnership and births/adoptions. Or, those you call family could be close friends. It might be that your family is a combination of relatives and friends.
Perhaps you attend a church and you consider this group family. Maybe you’re part of a creative group or a sports group and the other artists and athletes are a part of your family. And, of course, any pets that you have are also family. So, this week, set aside some time and dote on everyone that you deem family.
Maybe your wife or girlfriend has been working a lot of overtime and has been coming home just a little exhausted. Surprise her with a nice dinner or a luxurious bath. Perhaps one of your kids has been working very hard to get a good grade in a class in which she or he struggles. Recognize this hard work by doing something special for your child. Read more
So, how’s everyone’s first month of 2011 been? Are you finding that you’re dealing with a lot of change energy, as discussed in my 2011 Tarot Insight reading? With one exception, everyone with whom I’ve spoken has told me that this month has been hellacious. I can attest to being in total agreement. However, I can’t say that I’m surprised, because I felt like the first three months of this new year were going to find a lot of us dealing with multiple issues, many of which are not even of our own making.
The good news is that this week, we’ll be working with the energy of the Two of Wands. This is a great card, because not only does it remind you that the future can be different from the present, but it nudges you to take action that will bring in the desired future.
The Two of Wands encourages you to realize your personal influence over situations. This is not to say that you can control every situation, but if you work with this card’s energy, then you’ll be cognizant of what you can influence (for the better) and you’ll recognize people and situations over which you have no control. This recognition helps you focus only on the tasks and issues that you can influence. Read more
Happy 2011, everyone! In Chinese astrology, this is the year of the Metal Rabbit, which commences on February 3. The Rabbit signifies the advent of peace, tranquility and diplomacy. However, the Metal element adds a touch of a competitive, aggressive, cold, and sometimes, insensitive energy. This means that those of you who are working to manifest peace, tranquility, and diplomacy will find that you will still be dealing with those who are content to work in a less-enlightened way. Therefore, while many of you will be working to build a better world, you’ll still find yourself dealing with some tough people and living through some not-so-fun times.
Because you will most likely be dealing with some tough characters in 2011, do your best to negotiate with tough people and through rough times, if you are unable to avoid these types of people and circumstances. Trying to force an issue with aggressive people is only a recipe for failure. However, the good news is that the Rabbit is considered to be lucky, and because rabbits are private creatures, who are bit introverted, this means that 2011 will provide an opportunity for you to find a place of quiet and ingest some calm. It also means that, while in your quiet place, you’ll be inspired to take action that will result in some unexpected good fortune.
To gain the greatest benefits from the Year of the Metal Rabbit, focus on home, family, security, diplomacy, and all kinds of relationships, especially those with people that have captured your heart, be it your best friend, your lover/mate, your child(ren), or a pet. Do your best to create a safe, peaceful world for yourself and all of those you’d like to be within your world. Read more
Hi, everyone. Because we're nearing the end of 2010 and find ourselves in a month that always seems to be too busy, I'm posting a reading for the entire month of December. In early January, I'll post a reading for 2011, which will provide the overarching energies that you'll be working with throughout the year. I'll then return to the regular weekly postings, proving insight for each week, which you can use in conjunction with the overall reading for 2011.
For this month, you'll be working with the Knight of Swords, the King of Swords, and The Empress. When I pulled these cards and saw that two Swords appeared, I thought, "How appropriate that two Sword cards would appear as we wrap up a year."
The reason I thought this is because Swords represent cutting through to find the truth, cutting away that which is no longer needed, and taking the action necessary to clear away the clutter so that you can manifest what you need. What better time to do this than just before the beginning of a new year, which brings new possibility. With The Empress representing creation and fertility, you can begin creating what works for you, after you've discarded that which doesn't work.
