This week's card takes us back to the blog entry posted for mid September, 2009. This was the first week that the Knight of Cups made an appearance. At that time, Mercury was in retrograde, and I told you not to be surprised if an old love made an appearance, whether in person or just via your personal news channel. This week, with Mercury being direct, any love-related events will occur with a new person.
If you've already found that special someone, you can use the inspiration and creativity that the Knight of Cups brings to add a new flavor of romance to your relationship. However, you don't have to limit your creative and inspirational energy to romantic endeavors. This is a great time to either continue working on a project that you started back in mid September or create something new.
Many of you are starting to see a little Spring in your world. Let the appearance of these new colors and smells ignite you into creating something fresh and beautiful. Be innovative. Be daring. Be yourself, but with a new flair.

This coming week, you'll be working again with the energy of the Queen of Pentacles. You already worked with her back in mid October, when she appeared, asking you to be generous.
Recently, both Haiti and Chile experienced terrible earthquakes and there are tens of thousands of people in both countries who could be helped by your generosity. Interestingly, one of the aspects associated with the Queen of Pentacles is that of her becoming very emotional over situations she can't control. Natural disasters fall into the category of things you can't control. Like the Queen of Pentacles, I feel relatively helpless when it comes to doing something substantive for the people of Haiti and Chile. I can't be there to offer aid, but I can send money to organizations set up to help in the aftermath of disasters like those experienced by these two countries.
Of course, there are people all over the world who could be helped by your generosity. If you want to do something about homelessness, you could give to a charity that is working to end this horrible situation. The same holds true for animals. So, if you have a little extra to give, decide where you think your contribution could make the most impact and then donate.

This week's reading takes us back to the blog I wrote for this last Thanksgiving week, when I also pulled the Two of Wands. What seeds did you plant during that week of Thanksgiving? Have you been tending to the projects you started? If so, what progress have you made? If you didn't take action during Thanksgiving week, the Two of Wands suggests that you remedy this situation during the upcoming week.
As you know, when you work with the Two of Wands, you are the creator of something that is needed in your personal universe. What do you need to create? A better relationship with your children? A new job? Better health? Or, what would you like to create? A new song? A new kitchen? A new you? The Two of Wands does not just suggest that you build because you need to. You can also work on a project that nourishes your soul, which includes working on yourself.
Some of my friends are beginning to talk about Spring planting. If you need or want to do some gardening, this complies with the Two of Wands energy. Maybe some of you need to begin Spring cleaning. For those of you who actually want to do Spring cleaning, I say "Mazel, and what? You like to clean?" Read more
I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s week. It’s now time to switch to a very different energy. This week, you’ll be working with The Hierophant. The Hierophant is considered to be a wise, holy man who dispenses advice based on experience and spiritual learning. However, this card also represents large institutions, like governments, political parties, and religious organizations.
Quite often, people involved with large institutions consider themselves traditionalists. Synonyms for this word include: conservative, right-wing, and orthodox. Because of this, The Hierophant is sometimes viewed as one who would dispense only traditional advice and when this card shows up in a reading, many counsel against actions that might seem unusual, like quitting a six-figure job to write mystery novels or choosing a life without children. However, The Hierophant isn’t as one-dimensional as some teach. While The Hierophant might dispense traditional advice when he (or she) deems it necessary, he can just as easily suggest you step off a well-traveled road and find your own path, no matter how unique.
In readings that include numerous cards, it’s easy to figure out the advice The Hierophant offers. If this card is surrounded by other cards that offer positive female energy, think about what a hip woman in a spiritual leadership position would say. What would a female rabbi advise you to do if you were in an abusive relationship? I image her counsel would include the word "leave"; more traditional people might advise you to stay and find a way to make the relationship work. Would a woman wearing the robes of a Unitarian Universalist minister condemn you for being gay, or would she help you understand your path so you can walk it proudly? Read more
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! The Ace of Cups is a great card to pull for Valentine's week. Not only does it represent love or new love, but its energy includes faithfulness and fertility. So, for all of you couples that are in strong and committed relationships, this should be a great week for you. If you're in one of these types of relationships and are thinking about getting pregnant, now might be the time. If you're not trying to get pregnant, make sure precaution is holding hands with passion.
While the Ace of Cups is very much associated with love, this card also represents abundance, fulfillment, and a great outlook. Its secondary name is the Bounty card. If you're in a relationship, this Valentine's week might bring an overflowing of love to you. If you're not in a relationship, perhaps a friend or relative will surprise you with an incredible gift, or you'll find some extra money that will let you splurge on some new software or shoes.
Recently, while performing a major bathroom cleaning, I found a one-hundred-dollar bill in my cabinet. I was shocked. How did money find its way into an almost empty Q-Tip box? My daughter reminded me that this was leftover money from a weekend trip we'd taken. After the trip, when I found myself with a little extra cash, I hid it for future needs. This one-hundred-dollar bill is not large enough for me to splurge on Chanel ballerina flats, so I'll just keep it tucked safely away. However, maybe you should search your home to see if there's some fun cash just waiting for you to find it. Read more
Greetings, 9 Elephants tribe. How are you all doing? From what my friends and clients have been telling me, this past week has been a very busy and intense one for everyone. I can say that this holds true for me, too. I don't know if next week is going to be any less busy, but the energy should calm down a bit. This coming week, we'll be working with the Seven of Cups.
The Seven of Cups is called the Dreams or Dreaming card and it carries with it two flavors: one of daydreaming and the other, creative visualization. You all have dreams. Without them, Life would be rather bland. Some of your dreams involve a wonderful career. Others dream of love. Some of you dream of having the freedom to live outside the norms society places on us, eschewing the standard picket-fence dream and seeing yourself mountain climbing or meditating in a far-away temple.
Sometimes people just daydream about what they want, which is fine. However, if you really want to bring a daydream into reality, you should try creative visualization. The Seven of Cups asks you to take the next seven days and find some quiet time to think about your dreams. then determine what action you need to take to change these mind movies of wishes into a tangible reality.

This week we might all get the chance to have a little fun, because the energy that appeared is that of The Lovers. The Lovers brings with it everything obvious: romance, sex, and passion. If you're in a committed relationship, this week could find you and your special someone re-igniting the spark. If you're in a new relationship, don't be surprised if the relationship blossoms into something deeper. For those still waiting for their Mr. or Ms. Right, don't shut the door on love just yet. The Lovers reminds you to make room in your life for another person and keep your heart open for them.
The Lovers also represents maturity and communication. You can't have a solid, functional relationship unless you're able to talk with each other in a mature and grounded way. So, even if the past few months (or years) have found you and your partner in a place that is less than ideal, don't go all Jerry Springer on each other. Take the time to really talk to one another and listen. You might be surprised at the turnaround in your relationship. Be aware, though, that The Lovers can indicate stepping on to a new path; so, if it's time to gently bury a current relationship and heal, then do so. Whether you inject a dose of passion into a good relationship or decide to end a relationship that no longer works, you can't do anything until you take the time to communicate.
The Lovers card doesn't just pertain to love. If this card shows up in a reading about a potential new job, then go for it. Take the job - you're going to love it. If you're questioning whether to make a move and The Lovers appears, start packing. This card can even show up in readings where a querant is asking about how to get past a difficult situation. When The Lovers appears in this kind of reading, the Universe is saying, "Don't worry. No matter how tough the situation is, you're going to get through it, and when you're on the other side, you're going to really, really like who you've become."

Hello! So did you all have a busy week, juggling one activity or task after another? I know I did. I felt like I was juggling small planets, not just tasks. However, I did accomplish a lot and I hope that you did, too. We continue working with the energy of the Pentacles. This week, we'll be working with the King of Pentacles.
The King of Pentacles is a wonderful card. It represents riches, both materially and spiritually. So this next week, perhaps you'll see a reward for some of the hard work you performed last week. While this reward could come in the form of something tangible, like a gift or money, in exchange for whatever task or service you completed, your reward could simply be a compliment or a "thank you". It could also be something as simple as your knowing that you took care of something that was necessary, like helping a loved one who was sick or giving aid to those still suffering in Haiti. Knowing that you helped another in need should make you feel wonderful.
This coming week, the King of Pentacles asks you to be steady and reliable and down to earth. There is a lot of confusion and chaos still swirling around the world, not only from natural disasters, but from those in power making decisions that could disrupt our lives. A good example of this includes the United States Supreme Court ruling that allows corporations to give as much money as they'd like to political campaigns. This could allow already-strong corporations so much power that it is entirely possible that they could decide who maintains political office as opposed to us voting in who we'd like to govern.

Hey, everyone. I don't know about the rest of you, but I could use a little quiet and rest. However, my reading this morning suggests that we're all going to be very, very busy next week. Say hello to the Two of Pentacles, otherwise known as The Juggler.
The Two of Pentacles finds you juggling multiple projects while still maintaining balance and control. This card suggests that you "know the ropes" so you can handle whatever Life throws at you. It also reminds you that, if you're trying to make a decision and are deluged with multiple possibilities - be they job offers, love interests, designer handbags, or just trying to figure out which brand of vitamins works best - you'll make the right decision, because you are in control of yourself, balanced on the tightrope of Life.
As if this card doesn't already suggest that you're busy beyond any kind of Type A behavior imaginable, the Two of Pentacles also tells you that you really need to let loose and have some fun. So, while you're juggling your job and family and friends and running errands and paying bills and coaching your child's soccer team or finding a cure for cancer, whatever you do - don't forget to go to the movies or go out dancing or play some tennis. Me, I'd be happy to just find more than four hours a night to sleep. Read more
Hey there. Hope you're all doing well. This morning, while shuffling my Tarot deck, two cards flew out - literally. So, today I'll be writing about the Three of Pentacles and the Four of Pentacles. These cards represent an interesting mix of energy for the upcoming week. The Three of Pentacles is known as The Master Craftsman, while the Four of Pentacles is called The Miser.
The Three of Pentacles shows a person working to master a skill, often artistic, but not necessarily confined to this type of creativity. You could be an engineer or a doctor and be working to better your talent, laying a foundation upon which you can build more success. The Three of Pentacles tells you that your efforts will not only be appreciated, but will bring future rewards.
The Four of Pentacles shows a person working hard to get all that he can, being greedy and selfish, always suspicious, thinking that everyone is conspiring against him. The Four of Pentacles doesn't trust anyone, does not ever let go of a grudge, and is an emotional black hole. Unlike the Three of Pentacles, who works for future reward, the Four of Pentacles only wants short-term gain.

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve celebration and that your year is starting off well. Today, I'm providing a reading for all of 2010, not just the upcoming week. I pulled cards to represent the energy of the Past, the Present, and the Future.
A Past, Present, Future reading shows what energy, if any, you should bring forward from the past, while also providing a description of the energy that will be working with you most immediately. Finally, this reading shows you what kind of influence you can expect to feel before a certain amount of time has elapsed. In this reading, I'll let you know what kind of energy appeared for the whole of 2009, while also providing you with a reading on what 2010 will look like.
Before I started my meditation on the 2010 reading, I thought to myself, "I'll be very surprised if The Tower card doesn't show up in the Past position. So, what shows up in the Past Position - The Tower. This card represents the breaking down of the known to bring in better. From Mark Morford's column, Dear 2010 - Please don't be like 2009, to what my clients have said to me, to comments I've read online, to my own personal feelings - I think that most of us are very glad to usher out 2009, along with the last ten years.

As we finish up our holiday celebrations and gift giving, we are once again visited by the Queen of Pentacles. She brings with her an extension of the generosity we've just given to those we love. She also offers nurturing and care-taking skills we can all use to not only help those close to us, but also, the population at large.
The Queen of Pentacles sustains all. She knows that we are interconnected and that our actions can ripple far and affect those we don't even know. Therefore, the Queen of Pentacles asks that we think about how we live our lives and understand that what we put out can have far-reaching consequences. As we approach a new year, we certainly want to ensure that those we love are taken care of, but we should also think about how we can help on a larger scale.
Perhaps you can use your generosity to give to a charity or get involved with a group trying to heal our planet and help its animal inhabitants remain alive. Show your generosity at work and offer to help on a project not assigned to you. Realize that small actions can provide large results - help someone pick up groceries they dropped, pay another person's toll, tip a little more than you usually do - none of these actions require a huge effort on your part, but they will make the recipients of your generosity feel like they're not alone.

This week, synchronicity once again works Her magic and brings us The Star card. For those of you who just finished celebrating Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, and for those of you who will be celebrating Christmas this week, The Star card is most appropriate.
In Jewish tradition, The Star is connected with the Menorah, a candle holder that is lit during Hanukkah. The Menorah is reminiscent of the the light that burned in Jerusalem's Mount Moriah temple (2,200 years ago), after it was recaptured by Jews known as Macabees. The Macabees had been fighting for their peoples' freedom to practice their religion and traditions, and when the Macabees took command of the temple and needed to light the Eternal Flame during a re-dedication ceremony, they found there was only enough consecrated oil to provide light for one day. However, this flame, after being lit, burned for eight days, representing lasting freedom.
Christians associate The Star with the Star of Bethlehem, which is said to have revealed the birth of Jesus to the Magi, or wise men. The Magi were on their way to Bethlehem, where prophecy indicated that the messiah was to have been born. Along the way, the Star of Bethlehem appeared in the sky, leading the Magi to Mary and her son, Jesus. Christians view the appearance of the star as a miraculous event.

Hi everyone. How are you? Did you find that last week's Six of Cups energy brought childhood memories into your life? Did someone unexpected show up? As those of you who are connected to me via Twitter and Facebook know, I had a hellish day at work Friday. A woman who directs one of the projects I'm documenting, who has always been a screamer, finally decided that it was my turn to be her target.
Despite this woman having given me a Bravo award for my good work and despite my being able to tiptoe around her since May and not be yelled at, like others on the team, I knew I was not immune from this person's rantings. While I tried hard to avoid it, I knew that one day, I would feel her wrath. She had already been poking at me since late last week, but yesterday, she let loose and, literally, screamed at me over the phone and via instant messages all day long.
Despite being an adult, I was reduced to tears, sobbing in my cubicle, shaking - wondering why this was happening. At one point, I thought, "This was a week for Six of Cups energy. This is a good card. What is going on?" Read more
As we proceed into December, the patina of the Cups remains with us. This week, we'll be working with the energy of the Six of Cups. This card represents home, childhood, and past memories. It asks us to remember our innocence and remain idealistic. It also represents the best of karmic relationships.
Home can be the place where you live, or it can be indicative of something more esoteric, like your thoughts and feelings. Since the Six of Cups pertains to childhood, this is a great time to remember the happiness and freedom that you felt as a child and bring some of this innocence back into your adult life. If your childhood was unhappy or abusive, then now is a good time to determine what memories of the past you need to release.
As the year-end holidays approach, many of you have already decorated your home, filling it with beautiful trees and ornaments and wreaths. Each time you look at these beautiful trimmings, take a minute to be thankful for your home and all who live within it. Remember the fun of past holidays and if you can afford it, splurge a little on the younger members of your family.
