Hey there. Hope you're all doing well. This morning, while shuffling my Tarot deck, two cards flew out - literally. So, today I'll be writing about the
Three of Pentacles and the
Four of Pentacles. These cards represent an interesting mix of energy for the upcoming week. The
Three of Pentacles is known as The Master Craftsman, while the
Four of Pentacles is called The Miser.
The
Three of Pentacles shows a person working to master a skill, often artistic, but not necessarily confined to this type of creativity. You could be an engineer or a doctor and be working to better your talent, laying a foundation upon which you can build more success. The
Three of Pentacles tells you that your efforts will not only be appreciated, but will bring future rewards.
The
Four of Pentacles shows a person working hard to get all that he can, being greedy and selfish, always suspicious, thinking that everyone is conspiring against him. The
Four of Pentacles doesn't trust anyone, does not ever let go of a grudge, and is an emotional black hole. Unlike the
Three of Pentacles, who works for future reward, the
Four of Pentacles only wants short-term gain.
Now, there are different ways to read these two cards, together. The first reading says that you must continue to work diligently this upcoming week on a skill or a project that you want to master. For example, this week (and beyond), I'll be working with my editor to craft my book into the best shape possible. While doing this, however, I must be aware of not letting anyone else criticize me for not spending time with them or getting upset with me for deciding to not attend meetings held by groups to which I belong. While you're taking positive steps forward over the next seven days (and most likely, farther into the future), creating something important and worthwhile, you must also be careful to not let a selfish, greedy, heartless person stomp on your plans and dreams.
This is one way to read the cards that I pulled. Or, you can view the
Three of Pentacles + the
Four of Pentacles spread as a suggestion from the Universe, who says: "Continue mastering your talent, and whatever you do, don't be miserly with what you have to offer."
While it's good to be discerning and watch out for others trying to squelch your talent, because there's always some poor miserable soul who will try to stamp out your light, I think you should seriously consider that you're being asked to not hide your light under a bushel.
Even though the phrase "hide your light under a bushel" comes from the New Testament, Mathew 5:15, there's no reason to apply any kind of religious overtones to the phrase. It simply means that you don't have to be shy about expressing your skills. Your talent, whether it's one singular skill or many skills working together, is a gift, and you just never know where your particular skill set will take you or how it can help others.
Therefore, this week, hum a few bars of
This Little Light Of Mine and work at mastering the skills that make you unique. Let your special gifts lighten up a world that could use quite a bit of illumination.
Have a very successful and effervescent week! Sparkle and shine!
Namaste!
The dynamics of my life have always dictated that I work on something creative. I am writing poetry again and am partially determined to begin taking notes again for a book I started when Debbie was very ill. Send good thoughts my way on that one.......Thanks for the great blog......Namaste!
I love the scene in the movie "Corrina Corrina" when the little white girl that Whoopi Goldberg is taking care of, spends the day with Whoopi's family and gets to sing "This Little Light of Mine" with the black children's choir. Have you seen this movie? It's a good one!
Thanks for continuing to support my blog. I so appreciate it. Namaste!
A complex reading this week!
