This week we might all get the chance to have a little fun, because the energy that appeared is that of
The Lovers.
The Lovers brings with it everything obvious: romance, sex, and passion. If you're in a committed relationship, this week could find you and your special someone re-igniting the spark. If you're in a new relationship, don't be surprised if the relationship blossoms into something deeper. For those still waiting for their Mr. or Ms. Right, don't shut the door on love just yet.
The Lovers reminds you to make room in your life for another person and keep your heart open for them.
The Lovers also represents maturity and communication. You can't have a solid, functional relationship unless you're able to talk with each other in a mature and grounded way. So, even if the past few months (or years) have found you and your partner in a place that is less than ideal, don't go all
Jerry Springer on each other. Take the time to really talk to one another and listen. You might be surprised at the turnaround in your relationship. Be aware, though, that
The Lovers can indicate stepping on to a new path; so, if it's time to gently bury a current relationship and heal, then do so. Whether you inject a dose of passion into a good relationship or decide to end a relationship that no longer works, you can't do anything until you take the time to communicate.
The Lovers card doesn't just pertain to love. If this card shows up in a reading about a potential new job, then go for it. Take the job - you're going to love it. If you're questioning whether to make a move and
The Lovers appears, start packing. This card can even show up in readings where a querant is asking about how to get past a difficult situation. When
The Lovers appears in this kind of reading, the Universe is saying, "Don't worry. No matter how tough the situation is, you're going to get through it, and when you're on the other side, you're going to really, really like who you've become."
Valentine's Day is just a couple weeks ago, so you have plenty of time to plan a day filled with love and romance for the significant other in your life. And for those who have yet to find this special person, look around and see the other kinds of love that exist in your life - maybe you have a child or a pet or a brother or sister that you truly, truly love. Make sure you let these people and furry babies know how much they mean to you. Love doesn't have to encompass only romance. Plus, if you are single, remember to keep your heart open.
Having said that, if you're a little upset that you're alone, that's okay, too. It's fine to acknowledge how you feel. Just don't bottle up this energy. Work out a little more, blast your favorite song and dance like a fool, cry if you have to. It's all okay. Just don't give up. Remember, this is the year of the unexpected, so who knows who could find their way into your lives and hearts.
If you're working on a project, give it a little extra love and attention this week. Thanks to my audacious editor,
Stephanie Gunning, I'm putting the final touches on my book,
Shake That Cream - How I Survived Growing up in a Religious Cult. I'll then be looking for either a great literary agent or a publisher who's ready to get my book out into the public, which will open up a very new and exciting chapter in my life - one that I will truly love!
This next week should be a great week, filled with all different kinds of love. Enjoy!
Namaste!
What comes to my mind about this is partnership, not just partners/lovers but partnering up with our "tribe", our like-minded friends (you!) and the concept of support. Tough times that many of us are going thru calls for that support, now more than ever.
Another thing that this card makes me think of is our own duality. Our own nature can often have conflicting interests, ideas, either/or kinds of concepts....well, why does it seem to always be "either/or"? Why not BOTH? Instead of either/or, can't it instead be AND?
Specifically I think of the duality of male/female energy. For example, right now my masculine energy wants me to express things NOW, and I feel compelled to do something, pointedly, with focus and intensity. Well, kitty sitting right next to me-representing my feminine energy/self wants attention; meowing, looking all cute and I know wanting to be petted. It stops me, interrups me. Despite Jasper being a male kitty, he so aptly represents the feminine and his soft, purring, continual nudges for attention remind me to stop, relax, and pay some attention to a loving soul. I can acknowledge that feminine energy ALONG WITH continuance of my male energied, focused task. I'll get the task done, and as long as I'm not on a tight schedule, I'll get both done by acknowledging both my focused need (expression) and the feminine albeit diffuse need (play with kitty) but I may have to let go of SOME RIGIDITY on when I think both "should" happen. I don't like to "should" on myself too often. It sets me up for being excessively hard on myself.
By encorporating and acknowledging my own dual male/female energies, esp. if I lead with the feminine intuitive energy that I have in spades, I can then allow my male energy to be supported, acknowledged and then "he" can do his job much better. Its the acknowledgment of both that allows me to embrace the Lovers within.
I have struggled to do that alot in my life. I have disowned my Divine Feminine, and I have more than twice as much feminine energy as I do masculine energy. Disowning or dismissing that much of myself was often supported by the crazy society we live in; the U.S. is a heavy-duty masculinized country. But, it was still MY choice to buy into behaviors and ideas that supported dismissal of myself. Sometimes the worst of that occurred when I knew better!
But-LOVE and the Lovers to me, means to make peace with those mistakes. Loving myself and liking myself is my life task and wow-what A JOB its been, but it is sooo worth it. Peace of mind and joy in my heart are just a few of the many rewards for such a task. And, it doesn't have to be an either/or thing, (conditional) it can be a "no matter what" thing(Unconditional).
Masculine & feminine both have their place, neither is better than the other. Loving them both allows me to love myself better, thus becoming a better lover to others!

Yes, learning to love ourselves - and for us women - our Divine Feminine - is absolutely necessary. The more we love ourselves, the better we can love our partners, our friends, our families, our furry babies, and the world.
We all have much healing work to do on ourselves, even those of us who've been healing for decades. We live in such scattered, negative times, and the masculine energy in the U.S. can certainly make it hard to let our Divine Feminine shine. However, what the world desperately needs right now is our feminine energy.
You and I (and a lot of other women) have a lot of masculine energy. We've needed this energy to survive in a "man's world". Likewise, there are a lot of wonderful men who have had to squelch their feminine energy, for fear of betrayed as something they're not.
It's certainly the time for us all to let both our masculine and feminine energy shine and each of these energies must be treated equally. However, I do think we need to let a bit more of the Divine Feminine do Her work, because the world really needs a loving, female touch right now.
The Lovers card almost always brings good news - unless I'm doing a reading and this card is surrounded by nothing but negative cards. However, when I'm doing my 9 Elephants readings for my tribe, I'm bringing in as much positive energy as possible. We all need this kind of energy to survive the crazy chaotic times in which we live.
So, let Love reign....
