As
mentioned in the overview of the Tarot, the Major Arcana
cards provide a story of how man evolves from an innocent,
trusting being to one who has mastery over his/her life
and understands the path of this life. This section tells
the story of man’s journey, as told through the Major
Arcana cards.

- The Hermit |
|
It
is now time to go within and truly search your soul. The
Hermit enables you to do this. This card represents the
old saying: "Know Thyself". To know yourself,
you must find solitude and dig deeply. This act will enable
you to trust yourself and your instincts.
The
archetype associated with the Hermit is the Virgin, goddess
of the harvest.

Now that you have gone within and found out how to trust
your instincts, it's time to reap he harvest that you
have sown. The Wheel of Fortune represents your harvest
in life. However, this card also helps you to realize
that you need to live every day as if it were your last.
For while you might be reaping a harvest right now, tomorrow
(or karma) might take away this harvest. Life is a circle.
To live it, you must experience all aspects of the circle.
What you sow, you shall reap. And if you sow well, you
will be greatly rewarded.

about the circle of life and the karma that comes with
this circle. Now he must learn how to detach himself from
the material world. Just like the Hermit went within,
the Hanged Man finds a place where he can be calm and
learn how to live more in a spiritual world vs. a world
of gain and goods. You learn from the Hanged Man how to
find spiritual enlightenment.
No

although this card is quite often compared to the Norse

Ready for change? Death is here to serve it to you. Death
helps you to understand change, renewal, transformation.
Now that you've learned how to let go of the material
world, you can learn how to let go of whatever it is that
no longer serves you. This can be a relationship, a job,
or even the life of a loved one who is ready to cross
over. However, despite the change that occurs, you must
remember that change always brings something new, even
in death.

However, it is sometimes associated with the Phoenix,
the mythical bird who could burn, turn to ashes, and then
rise from these ashes as resplendent and powerful as ever.
