mentioned in the overview of the Tarot, the Major Arcana
cards provide a story of how man evolves from an innocent,
trusting being to one who has mastery over his/her life
and understands the path of this life. This section tells
the story of man’s journey, as told through the Major
Arcana cards.

|
The
Devil appears and tempts you with all kinds of goodies
that could cause you to forget your path and become immersed
in the allure of sex, money, power, drugs, drink, and
more. Now, in moderation (remember Temperance?), none
of these things are bad. However, if abused, they can
lead you down a path that is very dark.
The
archetype associated with the Devil is that of the Shadow,
the darker side of ourselves.

- The Tower |
|
The
Tower brings such swift, sudden change that you will hardly
have time to catch your breath. Your life is disrupted
without warning. These disruptions can be for good or
bad, but ultimately, if you are following your path, you
will learn the lesson(s) that the Tower brings and you
will move forward, stronger and wiser.
The
Tower is not associated with an archetype.

The Star comes to you and offers you hope. By now, you
have been through many lessons, brought by both the Devil
and the Tower. But these lessons have strengthened you
and now you are offered that ray of light that brings
to you a new chance, a new beginning.
No specific archetype is associated with this card.

- The Moon |
|
Now that you have once again found hope, you might find
that you look upon the world through rose-colored glasses.
The Moon reminds you that deception and hidden actions
still exist. The Moon warns you to be aware.
The
archetype of the Great Mother is associated with the Moon.

- The Sun |
While
the moon reminds you of what is hidden, the Sun illumines
all. You are now able to see clearly and understand how
to reach success in your endeavors. By this time, you
understand much and you are not only grateful for the
illumination, but you are also strong enough and brave
enough to show your true self. You let your inner strength,
wisdom, and personality shine.

– Judgment |
Now that you are letting your "true self" show,
you must be prepared for Judgment. This judgment might
not always be fair, but the lessons of Judgment will strengthen
you and help you to learn discernment. Discernment not
only makes you wiser, but it draws you closer to the Spiritual.
You are now able to hear more clearly the messages that
the Divine sends to you.

- The World |
|
|
| |
You have arrived. You have followed your path and learned
all of the lessons that the World has given you. You are
no longer a Fool, but an aware adult, who is ready to
tackle whatever the World offers, both good and bad. You
hold the World in your hands. You are your own World,
complete.
